Hello everyone;
Just arrived back from Cyprus, stayed at the hotel Poseidonia in Limassol. Whilst out there my Fiancée and I got married at the Germasogeia Cultural center. In temperatures of 45c it was a day to remember for the rest of our lives.
The hotel was fantastic and very clean, the staff were great and very sociable, especially Billy and Fytos behind the bar, where we spent many a happy hour. Drinks snacks were readily available and very adequate. From 10 in the morning until midnight. The pool was brilliant, clean, well maintained and there were always plenty of sun loungers no matter what time of day. Our room was spacious, clean and had a fantastic view of the sea; maids were in every morning changing towels and bed linen.
We can highly recommend this hotel and we do intend going back to it. Although it was not our initial choice, having booked to go to the Atlantica Oasis (still a building site 31/07/07 Pictures of it can be sent if required) but if you find yourself being moved to this hotel instead of the Atlantica, you will not be disappointed.
Wishing you all a fantastic holiday.

We were also moved to Paphos Gardens in Paphos. We hired a car for a couple of days and went to Limassol to have a look at the hotel/apartments, which is still a building site. In our opinion Paphos is much nicer than Limassol, it doesn't have the best beaches but the town is fantastic, food is amazing and nightlife there is something for everyone. We had a fantastic time and the weather was glorious.
We tried to hire a car the first day we arrived and were told there was nothing available and ask the following week. We did eventually get a car for 2 days of the second week but be warned there isnt enough cars on the island and most people were booking in the uk. I would definately recommend you book your car before you go and use either easycar.com, Avis or Europcar to avoid dissappointment. |

Recently booked this hotel to go at the end of October. I have been checking this site and the hotels own website to check progress. I have even e-mailed and spoke to the hotel direct. They inform me that it is due to fully re-open on Sunday 9th September. It advertises this on the website also. I e-mailed the marketing dept and asked for some photos to be e-mailed over to me, and she said they would be publishing some on their website very shortly. (I will be watching it very closely). Still not fully convinced as they have been telling others of a 'definite opening date' for quite a few months now. Suppose I will have to wait and see, but hoping that everything will be ok for when we go in October.
Anybody else in the same position ? |

| I've heard it's nearer to the last week in September that the hotel will re-open. |

Hi All
I got back from Cyprus yesterday. I stayed at the Atlantica Gardens...which is literally spitting distance from the Oasis.
Although the hotel was looking horrific when I first arrived (29th Aug) they seemed to pull their finger out during the last two weeks. The hotel did in fact open yesterday (Sunday) albeit not fully complete.
The pool areas are finished and the main hotel block has also opened...and very good this looks too.
The entertainment staff tell me that the entertainiment hall still isn't done yet but most events will be held outside or in the main bar, which is finished.
Basically you should find most things ready by the end of September maybe a little later. But sudffice to say, there will be a lot more for you to do than there was for me!
Cheers

Hi all!
I got back from Atlantica Oasis on Sep. 22, 2007. It's open (though shouldn't be).
Most of it is still under construction (including rooms), from the whole list of their facilities you'll find the following available:
- big swimming pool
- small swimming pool (ab. 3 feet deep)
- beach towels (but extremely insufficient amount)
- 2 bars (no snacks there)
- 1 restaurant (too little staff to serve all guests)
You won't find (even if promised):
- gym (still making it)
- sauna
- covered pool with jacuzzi (not even half-ready)
- SPA
- internet access
- tennis/squash courts
- in-between-meals snacks (surprised?)
- diving lessons (and I paid for them)
- entertainment programme (except for 2-hour-long live singing at 10 p.m. in the bar)
To add to this, the closest CLEAN beach is 20 minutes' walk away.
Hope my information will be useful. |
