Postby JO-JO1 » Tue Apr 24, 2007 11:40 am

Hi all!
I just wandering if you can help me gain more info an the above hotel as i have seen pictures of a building site!

My partner and i get married in Limassol on the 15th June (7 wks!) and we are having our reception back at this hotel...we are staying from the 10th-24th June

The travel agents didnt know of any building work (demolition more like!) taking place,so they phoned Libra for an explanation...Libra said the building work would be complete for when we arrived ?????

If any of you have any info can you please share it with me..
Thank you
A VERY DESPERATE BRIDE TO BE

This is (originally) the Atlantica Hotel (not to be confused with Atlantica Bay - the Thomson Gold hotel at Amathusa). It's situated close to Macdonalds just off the seafront road and near to the small fairground.

Last I heard is the Atlantica Hotel were going to do some renovation works - changing the entrance area from what was the front of the hotel - to the back (near to the Sunsmile Apts). The front of the hotel used to be on the same street as the Nags Head pub & Happy Jacks bar but I gather they want to keep their hotel guests within the hotel and so changed the entrance so that arriving guests don't see the other "attractions" and stay in the hotel instead at nights.

Fab karaoke at the Nags Head by Chris - (great Elvis songs) except Weds nights when it's his night off.

Hi,
I have just returned from the seafront today to find the Nags Head pub is completely gutted and looks like it has move a bit further down the road to Tease bar on the same side as where the original pub was....

The Atlantica Hotel has had the original front entrance completely blocked up and looks like they may have been renovating or rebuilding the self catering apartments, which were situated above the reception area. The bulldozer was working in the front (which may now be the back) of the hotel....

It's possible they may finish the work in time for your holiday/wedding but the Atlantica group are notorious for starting work when it suits them and often not always notifying the tour operators of this.

I would suggest you get in touch with Libra again and ask them to get you some photographs of the hotel in its' current state. That way, it means they won't just be able to phone without going along to pay it a visit....

ATLANTICA OASIS - LIMASSOL

Postby blogan66 » Fri May 04, 2007 10:21 pm

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I am part of a wedding party of 45 people that are staying at this hotel for a week on 3rd June (my two daughters (3 & 7) are bridesmaids).

After reading the reply to your question last week, I checked with First Choice yesterday if the hotel would be ready and was told categorically that it would.

We have just been told today by FIRST CHOICE that the hotel will not be ready and we cannot stay there :x

They have managed to accommodate us all in another hotel in Limassol (Atlantica Miramare Beach which is part of the same chain of hotels), but it is not all inclusive :? but they have said that they will sort something out for us (ie. they will change the board to AI for that week!!). We have yet to get actual confirmation as to how they will do this??

The one good thing is that we were not having the wedding or the reception at the actual hotel, so the wedding can still go ahead with no problems.

I would therefore strongly advise that you double check with your travel agent that it will be ready for your visit.

Hope all works out for you. Best of luck with the wedding (let me know how you get on) xx

I was due to stay at the Atlantica Oasis from 3rd June to 10th. I am getting married on the 7th and booked for over 50 people, I rcvd a call from First Choice on Friday telling me that the hotel would not be ready in time, and they ther have transferred me to the Miramare.
I visited the Oasis in October to check it out, and loved the location etc. Can anyone tell me anything about the Miramare, and where its located in comparison to the Oasis. The truth be told the Miramare is our only option because of the number of people I have booked, its either that or get split up, which is not an option.. Any thought would be appreciated.
