What is Penera Bay like as a resort? We are looking to book two weeks in October, as we are coming over to choose tiles etc for our house which is on the East side of the island. We are looking for self catering and just a base really, but somewhere where we can walk to a restaurant on an evening. I have got quotes for Seagull Apts which are in Penera, and Andreotis Apts in Protaras. Has anyone stayed in either or got any views on either of them? We will be hiring a car so will be able to get about. I have read review on those holidays uncovered websites and still don't know what to do? Suggestions of any other self catering Apts would be appreciated. Our main requirements are to have somewhere clean, and where we can just have a stroll to a restaurant on an evening.

Hi Pernera Bay is a lovely resort in itself, just far enough away from Protaras to make it a little quieter. The Seagull is a wonderful apartment/hotel my family and I have stayed there for the last 11 years!!!.Very clean and family run nothing is too much trouble for them.Friends of ours stayed in the andreotis and to be honest it cant hold a light to the Seagull. There are lots of restaurants to choose from in pernera, the Italian directly opposite The Seagull is one of the best i have ever eaten in,The Blue Bay right on the beach is great too.Fresh house on the high street the list goes on and all within a 5 minute walk.Super little resort with good eating right on the doorstep choose the Seagull you will not be dissapointed.

Hi Matt

Thank you for the information, I have now booked The Seagull Apts, we fly out on 17th October, which is 20 weeks today, but who's counting! Laughing We stayed in Protaras last time so am looking forward to staying somewhere else. It is good to hear great reviews, thank you.

Just a reminder, 17th OCT is very near the end of season for the penera and protaras area, so it may not be at its best. Possibility of some places closed by that time too.

Maybe someone else can advise further on seasonal openings

Thanks Pantheman, it is the very last two weeks of the season! As long as it is clean and friendly and we can get something to eat local for at least half of our holiday I will be very happy. The trip is mainly to choose fittings and have a look around the area in preparation for moving over early next year. We will have a car for the duration too so that will help. Do you know anything about the building work around that area?

Dee,
The Seagull has its own restaurant that serves decent food at a reasonable price too. Matt.

Hi

I would check with your tour operator as there is a lot of building going on behind the Seagull. It goes right down to Blue Bay which is a very large area. They are building beach front villas.

Lynne
