We are going to Pathos in early July for our Honeymoon, never been to Cyprus before, we are staying at the Kissos hotel , whats it like ? Is there a decent beach nearby or do we have to travel to Coral Bay?

Thank you !

Hi Lee

If your after a nice beach goto Lara Bay. It will take you about 30 minutes to get to from Paphos but its really nice. If you hire a 4x4 you could go to the Akamas, but I would try getting their in a Ford Ka!!!!

All the best, and hope you have a good holiday.

I went in the Kissos Hotel 2 years back and its not a top quality hotel, i`d be afraid you will remember your honeymoon for the wrong reasons. The Elysium down the road is honeymoon material.

Whats the local bus service like ? can we easily go anywhere by bus ?

Mrwells

We were not concerned about misspelling our town name, more about the nature of your honeymoon: Pathos defined as the power of a situation, piece of writing, work of art or person to cause feelings of sadness, especially because of sympathy

I guess when you are on honeymoon the quality of the hotel doesn't matter that much... other stuff is more important  :D
Elysium is great. They have a very romantic piano bar and a great singer too. A bit expensive but well worth it. I would recommend at least to go there for a drink one night if you can not afford to stay.

I am considering hiring a car for a couple of days so we can expore. How easy is it to hire a car and how much am I likely to pay ? I have never driven abroad before - do you drive on the left in Cyprus ?

mrwells. most people here drive on the left, really depends on how drunk they are!!!! TOURIST car rates start at about £20 a day.
