Hey AlexISS, what IS that you are smoking in your avatar?, are you now suggesting that police forces should be manned by 'illiterate, brutal and corrupt policemen', the first duty of the police is to protect the general public, if there are problems among the ranks of the officers, it is their duty to eradicate them.
I am amazed that you should venture such a statement in support of your opinion.

???!??? What am I smoking?!?
I did not suggest the police should be manned by illiterates, I stated that the police IS manned by illiterates, and that this is the source of corruption in the Greek police force |

AlexISS, then surely that is a matter for the Greek authorities to deal with, what we are discussing here is the effectiveness of different methods of punishment.
I am convinced that a good whacking is a more suitable way to deal with young thugs, it is cheaper, involves far less paper-work, acts as a deterrent and relieves the pressure of the courts, it also allows the offender (if they are not stigmatized by having a criminal record), to mend their ways.
A far more effective policy, may I suggest?.

No, but I was present when an albanian immigrant friend of mine was arrested because he wasn't carrying his "papers" with him. Thrown against a wall and worn handcuffs... |

Well maybe next time you are late for work your boss will beat you up. Bet you'll never be late again.
I'm kidding of course, maybe |

AlexISS, bosses never beat their workers up, they just torture them all their lives by not paying them enough. |
