The first time we went through to the north we took the Ledra Palace crossing and then got a taxi after the Turkish checkpoint.
As we were going down the road towards Kyrenia, not far from the army camp - we found our side of the road closed.
An army tank being transported on a low loader had flipped off on top of a saloon car and was upside down with the car, and sadly, its' passengers. The occupants of the car were killed instantly and the road was still closed when we were collected 5hrs later by our taxi driver.
Now, we mostly use the checkpoint by the racecourse in Nicosia but we still go down that road remembering our first visit to Kyrenia. |

Has anyone been to the miramare. I am due to go with my husband and 1 year old son on wednesday but I am concered that it won't be suitable for my wee boy. This holidays seems to be going from bad to worse before we even leave due to also being changed from the oasis and also flighing from glasgow.
All I want to know is whether they have a children's menu / and children's pool and if there is a little entertainment for him. Not too bothered about a playground. He'll be in the pool more!!
Any reassurance would be much appeciated
