i know there are lots of things on here about money and i have tried to read all so please if i am asking the same questions forgive me. we are coming over there next week for two weeks stay at the seagull appartments. it is my wife, myself and 2 kids aged 12 and 15
we are staying self catering but eat out every night. we dont really drink alcohol but we do soft drinks. no gifts etc and only eat the standard meals nothing fancy.
what i want to know is how much spending money would you think we would require. |

| I would say CY£1000 minimum but CY£1500 would be more realistic if you will use taxis and shopping for snacks and a few extras (water park, water sports etc.). |

Eating out will be your biggest expense and I would allow CYP£10 per head per night eg a meze style meal is around £7.50-8 per head and soft drinks will be a couple of pounds each - soft drinks are about the same price as alcohol especially coke! (£550-600)
Don't know where you are staying but if in a main resort you will have tavernas/restaurants close by so taxi fares may not be too much plus there are buses. Short journeys are usuallu £5-6 by taxi. (£50? total)
You'll probably want to hire a car for a few days to explore (£70-£100 inc fuel/insurance) and I'd allow a few hundred pounds for activities (£200)
Last thing is food provision for breakfast/lunch - £150-200?
Total £1200 approx?
Enjoy your holiday and don't foregt to visit Polis/Latchi where we live - gorgeous, unspoilt and taverans are cheaper than Paphos!

Which resort are these apartments?
If they are in Paphos, this is probaby the most expensive part of Cyprus and the threads below are about right |

| hi the seagull apts are in a small resort called Pernera Bay a 15-20 min walk outside Protaras. There are lots of tavernas in the area and restaurants servin a full range of food.Try the Blue Bay on the beach, Fresh House on the main street, cordon blue opposite fresh house and chopsticks chinese not the one on the main street chopsticks is on the road back into Protaras. The italian opposite the seagull is one of the best anywhere nice for that special occasion. I think cyp£1500 will be ample. Enjoy it i'm sure you will. |
