We're thinking of booking a villa in Pissouri Bay next year, can anyone give us any info on the area/resort, suitability for families(we have a 12 year old and a 10 year old). Any advice would be welcome! Thanks. |

It's a lovely village but can be quite isolated, so a car is really a necessity.
Other than the beach, the old part of the village and a few tourist shops down towards the beach area - there probably isn't too much for children.
If they are happy to be in the pool all day at the villa - you should be okay.
The square and the old part of the village is really nice and there are a few small bars and restaurants in and around the square itself. Personally, I would say it's more geared up for couples without children but of course, not everyone is the same... Only you will know if your children will enjoy it there.
It will take you about 20 to 30 minutes to drive into Limassol town and a similar distance to get to Paphos too.
Hope this helps. |

Hi
Thanks for the info, its really useful. My children would spend all day every day in the pool, but we usually make them have a change of scenery every few days! I've heard there's some water parks on the island, are they easily accessible or would we have to spend hours in the car to get to them/see some sights?
Thanks & regards |

| The nearest water park is at Fassouri just to the west of Limassol, about 20 mins away in the car. It has things for all ages so would be a great day out. |

You could also take them to Ancient Curium if they like history and a visit to the keep at Kolossi Castle (on the way to the waterpark) is a great trip for kids.
For the castle, just take the road signed for Akrotiri (turn at Kolossi Steak House) and the castle is on the right.
The road towards the waterpark is signed for Trachoni (you take a left turn as you are heading towards Akrotiri) |

Why drive the best part of 2hrs, when there is an excellent waterpark about 15 - 20 mins just down the road from where they are staying?
Fassouri is supposed to be the biggest in Europe (or so they say) and it is newer than the one in Napa.
However, if you decide to go to Napa and stay overnight, then I'm sure the kids would love a trip to the waterpark there too |
