We have been coming to the island for quite a few years now but this year we have been let down by our normal accomodation. We have decided to go for an upmarket hotel this year and have decided on the Miramare, in Limassol.
Trawlling through the web sites there seems to be a large difference in the room rate. Does anyone know if you can book direct, if that gets a good rate etc.
Cheapest is not always the best, I know.
Looking forward to 25th and to be back out there.

We too fancy staying at the Miramare - It looks lovely in the brochures.
We've heard Ladies Mile Beach is nice and were wondering whether this hotel is close to it. If not - are there any other hotels close to this Beach?
Thank you in advance. |

Mira-Mare is a great place to be.The beach there is OK , i guess.
Ladies Mile is about 12 miles away and the closest hotels are :
a) Alasia Hotel (about 6 miles away) which is located in the middle of the city-not on the beach. Is a traditional small family hotel with good food.
b) Episcopiana Hotel which is located at Episcopi village ,west of Limassol-not on the beach either.
Curium beach is about 3 miles away while Ladies Mile is about 6 miles. |

Ladies Mile is by the new port on the outskirts of Limassol and stretches from there to the British Bases. There are no hotels in that area though and you'll need a car to get there as there is quite a long rockyish road you have to follow. Definitely quite a distance from the Miramare which is right in the main tourist strip. I'd estimate about 15 minutes due to the rocky road once you get to the port.
It's a very long beach with shallow water stretching out quite far (good for the kids) but I remember being incredibly disappointed when as a teen I was taken there only to discover it was not in-fact a mile-long beach full of attractive women.
It's not a particularly distinguished beach, if you're going to venture out with the car I'd suggest Pissouri as a nicer spot or Curium if you like waves. |

The Miramare Hotel is a good base. Although in the heart of the tourist area and close to restaurants, shops and bars, it is down a quiet side road so doesn't have the noise problem of the traffic along the seafront road.
It has its own little beach, but there are also nice beaches nearby including the Dasoudi Tourist Beach a few minutes away.
One of the nicest beaches is off to the East of Limassol at Governor's Beach. There is also Curium Beach to the West. Lady's Mile is near the port and industrial area and has a couple of restaurants on the beach, but do not go there on a windy day as it is so exposed! It is safe for kids, but not a particularly attractive place! |
