Hey guys,
I'm sorry if this has already been covered ad nauseam on this forum.
I'm heading to Cyprus(Ayia Napa) with 2 Friends in early September, We're going onto 2nd year in University, and From Ireland.
I'm just curious as to what Ayia Napa is actually like, I've picked up mixed images from the net.
Is it full of scum or what? |

| Ayia Napa is not dead in September but it is not like in the summer. For native culture is not the best place to go. When I go to Ayia Napa I feel like I am entering a different country! But don't worry. You can rent a car and go anywhere in Cyprus that you like within an hour or two max. |

You certainly can experience all the native food Napa has to offer.
McDonald's
Kfc
Pitza hut
TGI Fridays
Fish and chips
Various Chinese and Indian establishments
Last time I visited Napa in Sept it was quiet ~ not deserted but not exactly busing either.
As I went there to meet a friend it was a pleasant evening and a relief not to keep tripping over folk pissed out of there heads lying across the pavements as is the case in July and August

Not sure what your age is but we met some guys 2 years ago from Ireland (in their 30's) who HATED Ayia Napa - too noisy, brash etc and that was in October!
You won't find the "real" Cyprus there but as already advised you can get a hire car and head for the hills to the mountain villages. It IS quiet in the villages but Ayia Napa in season is the complete contrast. Sept is still pretty hot so you will get end of season drunks doing the usual sunbathe/get burnt all day and get drunk all night brigade.
My advice, get out and see a bit of Cyprus as well as exploring the area around Ayia Napa - there is some good stuff to see/things to do.
Check out the list of things to do on the website below:
