Haven't seen any English or Cypriot staff manage this yet, but on Saturday I gave an Eastern European waitress a 20 note, and within 2 minutes she'd turned it into a tenner! How do they do it?
It did mean I had to pay them 10 more than I should have, which is a shame, but its a great trick!
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I would name the bar, but libel laws etc.
Such a shame - we love Cyprus, but this kind of behaviour leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth.
Hasn't spoilt my holiday, but has taken the edge off it.

Almost as bad as one of the money exchange places in Larnaca.
I changed up £1200 GBP for CYP and when I counted it out found it was £20 short . 
The Eastern European lady ( probably Ukrainian or Russian ) behind the counter was very pretty and wearing a low cut top ~ her more than ample breasts were being pushed up even further by her bra and were obviously meant to distract customers especially male ones  .
I counted my money and as soon as I asked her to count it out her self again as it appeared wrong she added £20 to the pile and gave me a dirty look. 
I wonder how many times she's got away with it and some unsuspecting guy has been more interested in her cleavage than the money counted out  and left the office £20 or £10 short

Its the tight jeans policy where I went. Unfortunately there's nothing more of a turn off than an Eastern European smiling at you with those dead eyes that would rob you as soon as look at you.
Would have loved to see the look on her face change when you pointed out her 'error'! |
