I used to get the MAD magazine. I was a great fan of Sergio Aragones who did the little funny cartoons around the edges of the pages. I thought they were real clever.

Wow . . . so did I. But I found it hard going . . too American.

I was really into all "The Snoopy" stuff though

Yes going back a few years . . . and "DANDY" too . . .!

 My kinda woman... 8)

When I use to buy them they only cost 4p!

Do you remember "The Topper" and "The Beezer" ?. . . they're not published anymore.

I learnt to read English when I was 6 years old from reading comics . . .

I remember the Beezer... a larger sized comic? but not the Topper.

Every... hmm was it Wednesday or Thursday when the new Beano came out, ...I use to get it straight after school and literally RUN home, lock my bedroom door behind me and read it from cover to cover!

I miss the Beanos... :(

I wonder if I would still find it funny today... :?

I don't mind having a clear out if you want some of them . . . The Beano is still pretty good but The Dandy has gone downhill.

Don't throw them away! Bring them in Jan... :)

If you let me have a P.O. Box number or some-such, I could post them over to save carrying them.

Pppsssttt . . . do you think Copperline will be offended by our misuse of a very serious thread! :?

I think he is learning a hell of a lot more this way.......So are the people that read this forum.......Keep it up guys...............................................Time! Is moving on...Gotta get with it.....Soon be gone!!!!!!!!!!!

I check out this thread for the first time by going straight to the most recent page (instead of starting at the beginning), and what do I see but a discussion of the best comics magazines!

Maybe there is a deep meaning for this.

No you don't Mills...What you see is willful destruction of a topic that shows the vandals in bad light.....

OK I'm off to bed as I don't have any creative ideas on 'What are the essentials of any viable settlement'.
