fuck Sky Sports - they are run by a bunch of assholes with a typical British inferiority complex.
I heard the commentator saying that Wales were going for a third spot - is that third spot a play-off position? |
nope only first 2 qualify. If we do get 3rd spot we jump up the rankings for the world cup qualifiers into a higher basket for the draw....now there's a dream. |
Yet never give up. Poor Wales. |

Czech Republic on the verge of joining Germany in qualifying for Euro 2008
The Associated PressPublished: October 16, 2007
MUNICH, Germany: After Germany, the Czech Republic could become the second team to qualify for next year's European Championship from Group D.
To clinch an early spot, however, the Czechs have to beat the Germans in Munich and the hosts are not planning to make it easy for them in Wednesday's game.
"They will be very motivated because they still haven't clinched their qualification and they will want to avenge their defeat at home," German coach Joachim Loew said. "I expect an open game and we want to win and defend our first place in the group."
The Czechs lost 2-1 to Germany in March.
"Germany nearly humiliated us at home and we are looking forward to this return leg," said Czech midfielder David Jarolim, who plays for Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga. "If we qualify against Germany, that would be great."
Germany, which drew 0-0 at Ireland on Saturday, has 23 points, the Czech Republic 20, both from nine games, while Ireland has 15 from 10.
If they win Wednesday, the Czechs are through. A draw in Munich would leave Cyprus, at 13 points from nine games, still with a slim chance of qualifying ahead of the Czechs if it beats Ireland on Wednesday.
Both Germany and the Czech Republic go into the game with suspension and injury problems.
The major question for the Czechs remains whether the team's captain, Tomas Rosicky, will be available after being sidelined for a month. Rosicky hurt his hamstring in a 3-0 win for Arsenal over Sevilla in the Champions League on Sept. 19 and has not played a game since. |

| I watched the match on the welsh channel SC4, a great result and my bet paid off nicely. What was disappointing was seeing the stadium nearly empty. I think there were 6000 in a 23,000 capacity venue - looked terrible. I thought Cypriots were footy mad, how come nobody bothered to go???? |

I hope the RoI run out of their Irish luck.
Come on Cyprus, you can do it. |

because we're a f****ing ridiculous country. We'll get a capacity crowd when any of the top 6 teams are playing but when it comes to the national team people stay away. All those years of being the punching bag of europe made people weary.
Add to that the fact that Omonoia supporters are bitter about not enough of their players ever being selected, The Apoel supporters are bitter that too many of their team get selected...etc usual cypriot bullcrap.
This team however will soon have cyprus dancing in the streets. |

In the UK I am an ardent Arsenal supporter. Whenever Henry did not show his face, I used to cringe. You know what? They scored more goals than with him. Keep your fingers crossed. Forget the first round, you will have enough supporters now as well. |

Cross wires there, I was referring to supporters not the result, which I hope will improve. |
