Kurdish Republic of Eastern Turkey (KRET)
When will Turkey cede territory in her east for the formation of a Kurdish state aptly named the "Kurdish Republic of Eastern Turkey" (KRET) ?
Turkey must show the world how PARTITION is done for the sake of her 30 million strong "minority" so that the Republic of Cyprus may learn and follow suit for the Turkish Cypriots with their "TRNC".
The recognition and formation of the "KRET" should be DIRECTLY LINKED to any recognition of the "TRNC" by the EU.

Get Real, the country is called Kurdistan, and I believe Cyprus and Greece should recognize it from now.
The Kurds existed in that area long before "Turkey" was created on Asia Minor on land occupied by the Turkish invading hordes.
So don't confuse the Kurds with the Turkish Cypriot minority in Cyprus.
1) The Kurds were in Asia Minor long before Turks arrived and occupied their land. On the contrary Turkish Cypriots came to Cyprus as invadors 3000 years after us.
2) Kurdistan is an area that has always been inhabited by Kurds and this remains the case today. On the contrary the northern part of Cyprus has a Greek Cypriot majority for 1000s of years, and the declaration of the pseudo state is based solely on the crime of ethnically cleansing the great majority of the native population and replacing them with foreigners.
So please don't confuse Kurdistan with the pseudo state the invadors of Cyprus declared on our land. The only similarity is that both Kurdistan and Cyprus have fallen victim of the Turkish aggression and expansionism.
Personally I see an independent Kurdistan forming in the next 10 to 15 years. |

I'm aware of that Piratis but "KRET" strikes home more as it draws a parallel with the "TRNC". |

Careful over this one!
We might end up as the sacrificial lamb to appease Turkey if there is no American OK for invasion of Iraq. Careful! |

Too subtle T_C.
Would you promise to stay on topic if I ask you to clarify your doubts? |

Piratis, GR,
So how exactly would a 'KRET' or Kurdistan in eastern Turkey (a) hasten the resolution of the Cyprus problem and (b) hasten the restoration of Armenian national rights ? Or are your proposals simply to annoy Turkey and to encourage the killings of yet more innocents ? |

We are Cypriots and proud to be...Many believe we are the greatest people and nation in the world....Perhaps we should lead the way. |

Please consider the following…
1. The probability that Turkey will ever WILLINGLY cede territory for the creation of a Turkish Kurdish state (KRET) is next to zero.
2. The probability that Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey will ever SIMULTANEOUSLY agree to relinquish their corresponding Kurdish territories towards the creation of Kurdistan is even smaller.
Given the above what safe assumptions can one make? |
