To cross from south into north Cyprus is a visa required?
Is there any other crossing besides Nicosia? |

If you have a British passport, you simply show this at the crossing point, fill in a tiny form headed "TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS VISA" on which you simply write your name, passport number and nationality, they enter your particulars into a computer and stamp the visa form. And Bob's your uncle - you can enter and stay for up to three months. If there is no queue it takes less than one minute. You are supposed to make sure they stamp the visa slip and not your passport otherwise you could technically be in hot water on your return to the south. Actually, I have never known them try to stamp your passport.
There is a crossing point for people on foot at Ledra Palace - head for Markos Drakos Avenue. There are now a number of crossing points for vehicles at various places along the green line. |

Thanks for the bits of adviice regarding our holiday in Cyprus. We are now back in UK having had a super 35 days in "Paphos ". Fortunately we had a car for 3 weeks so we were able to get around a lot. We were taken aback by the amount of building develop
ment going on and feel that it is not really progress as the majority of the buildings are for foreign buyers and the infrastructure is bound to get overloaded. Anyway that is just an observation from a foreigner.
We found the Cypriot people very polite and courtious." Paphos Rentals" looked after us with the car hire and finally the " Queens Bay " hotel was excellent and we would recommend it wholeheartedly.
ps: We know how much you need rain but from the perspective of a holidaymaker it was lovely...Soorryy |
