Turkey: Punishment for drawing with Kurdish colours

- Turkish newspaper

North Kurdistan: In one of Batman Province's boroughs, Kozluk (village of "Yanikkaya"), 8 primary school children have been punished with a three day ban from school after making a drawing using the colours Red, Yellow & Green - Kurdish national colours (click link to see drawing)...

The Drawing:

The floor is in red, yellow and green tiles. A rainbow in red, yellow and green bends over an APPLE (red), a PEAR (green) and a BANANA (yellow)...

This is why these 8 children are prohibited from attending school for 3 days...

@Boomerang

This beats the Turkish government prosecuting Kurds who wrote "Newroz" ("New Year") with a "W" instead of a "V" in Kurdish...

It wasnt Turkey who punished them, it was some idiot school teacher, what the hell is wrong with you people, if anything that teacher should teach this kid what a rainbow really looks like coz she obviously has never seen one, and im still waiting to see where that bloody North Kurdistan is coz i cant seem to find it anywhere on the map nor whenever i was hanging around Batman i felt like i was in "North Kurdistan", so come on now, where is it?

I love the all "we are the innocent persecuted Kurds who all we want to do is use our colors in stupid little drawings but mighty evil Turkey wont let us" attitude, what about the 40,000 dead people, is that how you justify it?

The "teacher" was probably under instructions from the Turkish government.

The basic thing here is that this is even WORSE than the situation of the teacher who was tried for Insulting Islam by naming a teddy bear "Mohamed" in Darfur.

If the teachers can punish pupils for artwork :roll: ........ what hope do we have if countries like Turkey are banging on our door to be allowed into Europe?

Turkey had better learn how to join the rest of the Human Race in the 21st Century first.

. . . . and Shah, back to school for you! Didn't they teach you anything in the "North" :lol:
