going to be visiting from april 6th to 20th!
any ideas if it's warm enough to swim for your average person in a swimming pool maybe?
i've only visited once outside of the heat of summer so would appreciate any recommendations of things to do which may be more suitable for this time of year. i will be based around the akamas and limassol but travelling about is not a problem.
thanks |

hmm... for the average Cypriot person it is not warm enough. Then of course we can simply wait until summer to swim, so there is no rush for us
I think it should be ok in a pool though

This time of year is best to see nature. In summer Cyprus is dry, and apart from the mountain it doesn't look very pretty. So plan a lot of excursions, and not too much swimming |

I'm not cypriot, but have been living here for almost 3 years. Towards the end of April the water is ok to swim....well at least in the shallower parts of the sea ...Pools are usually ok, especially since the sun has been shining a lot so far...lets hope it stays that way
But other than that there are plenty of things to do here in the spring....if you're in Limassol take a drive on the old road towards Paphos and stick your nose in the air....its amazing!!!!
Have fun |

I Have just come back from Paphos yesterday and the weather was fab! Managed the swimming pool a couple of times as it was bearable but definaty on the cold side!
Sea was too cold though. |

I agree with Piratis, now is the best time of the year to see the nature. I myself will be flying to CY on Monday and stay for two weeks!
Its green everywhere, blossoms and flowers all over. I think almonds start to have blossoms now as well. One can have nice walks in the mountains or in the Akamas area for example. Or go and visit St. Hilarion, cause the way up there might be a bit too exhausting in the summer heat. There are lots of beautiful places all around the island. One would need much more than two weeks to enjoy everything.......
Have a nice holiday! |

Eracles, bad news for you They just said in the news today that during the weekend the temperature will drop 3 degrees below normal, that we will have storms, and maybe even snow on trodos
However I am sure that everything is going to be back to normal by 6th |

I hope you are right eracles!
And the thunderstorms are only in the forecast for nighttime anyway. I just checked online.
I really need to escape chilly Germany, even though spring has finally started here as well. |
