I saw two of those snakes making love, it looks weird. Normally they would slither away once seeing us but they remained there doing their business. They did it on our land too.  |

Appreciate off topic here but saw one of the harmless black snakes up in the mountains the other day. Anybody know if any of these (apart from the viper obv.) are dangerous to dogs?
I got an anti-venom kit from the vet but wouldn't want to use it if I didn't have to. Cure potentially worse than than illness and all that ...

Hi Jim, the black snakes aren't poisonous but a fully grown one will use its tail as a defence like a whip. They can also bite - but have no venom.
