Ok since Shah recommended firefox I've downloaded it, but now I'm having problems accessing the forum

When I click on some threads all I get is a BLANK page, it doesn't happen with all threads but sometimes it does, and no matter how many times I click I just get a blank page....it sorts itself out eventually but it keeps happening and it's soooo annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else have this?

I am not an expert but i think you should clear the cache first and then see what is going to happen.
(Go to Tools and then Clear Private Data after you have selected cache).

For the last two hours I have had no access to the forum either. At least one other member has had not been able to load Cyprus-forum. Me thinks Cyp-forum has had a problem with the server. Seems ok for now.

This is London. Over and out.

The web browser I am currently using is FireFox and it has been my main browser for at least four years. I have no problem accessing the forum. I understand the problem your having, basically it loads the requested page in parts.

If you were to time how long it took to load in IE vs FireFox you would find that Firefox's the duration is likely to be the same, if not faster. This is the way FireFox renders pages, it likes to render them in parts. I have experienced the problem you are having. It starts off blank, and then loads the page in parts. All browsers interprete pages differently.

It also depends on your Internet connection, to how fast the parts show render. As I said in a previous thread, I have a 1.5mb/s connection so I don't have a problem regarding speed. However at times Cyprus-Forum is slower that other sites, particularly as all it's content is pulled out of some type of database.

As for the cache, I don't this it has anything to do with it, you can do as Antreis stated just to see the results. My personally feel it's your Internet connection not the browser. IE loads the page at once but the loading time is always the same, if not slower in IE.

Hope this help, by the way "Rediscover the Web". :-)

Hello T_C,

Today the forum was down for a few hours and we had some DNS problems. This was due to a DOS attack on the data center where the server of the forum is located. Maybe your problem is related to this.

If the problem continues please let me know.

Thank you

I also use firefox! The great thing about firefox is the extensions you can add to it. There are tons of great extensions!! But don't add too many of them because they can make your browser slow and cause crashes!
