I did not ask for the symbol of the TMT. The TRNC/KKTC flag represents the Turkish Cypriots and you are not allowing for their representation. Are there any laws in the "RoC" that prevent the flying of such a flag???This site is registered in the USA...There are no laws there that say the flag cannot be flown there. Perhaps banning me is an option for you as well...I don't exactly promote harmony now do I. I don't think Piratis calling the island a Greek island does either and his position on this forum is official. Your reasons are personal and does not satisfy. |

How many votes would each voter have in this flag changing competition?
Would members of the southern community be restricted to one person/one vote and the northern community to three or four votes each, as some would insist on as an equal community? |

There is no Cypriot flag as far as I am concerned Sega and that is fact in my mind and not a wind up....The flag that has been highjacked by the "RoC" used to be but I have no doubt that they would abandon it tomorrow if they could. My point is that people here scream and shout that we should not use the Turkish flag but give us no option to represent ourselves with our own flag. It is not illegal and it is representative of a part of Cyprus. |

You need to ask yourself which was the official Cyprus flag prior to the devision, and then you will find the answer. We are only united with give and take, after all TC are not the only minority. There are many communities in Cyprus, including Armenians, Latins, Russians, Brits, Greeks from Greece, Athens, Romanians, Polish etc. and they are all happy with the Cypriot flag as it stands. Cyprus needs to cater for all, I understand your frustration, but I don't think there will be any chance on a flag change. You entitied to have your flag, and you should use it YOU USE IT!!! Not anatolian Turks, it needs to truly represent TC's. |

None of them have the history we do and have never had the share in power we have had.....It does not matter to me what flag we had....The one that is used by the "RoC" leaves me cold and that is that. The point about me using my flag is what this thread is about but admin says no....  |

The TC did not have power, they were a small humble minority of Cyprus that most people got along with. You need to let bygones be bygones. Soon enough other minoties will out number the TCs. No minority in Southern Cyprus has as many rights as the TC and our government welcomes you. The Cypriot flag will remain as the standard flag, at most the olive leaves might go, but as I said, that is that. Many people love this flag, non-nationals too.
If you feel strongly about it can you not create a image of the TC flag, and link it to your avatar, or even your footer. Just a small thumbnail. Go to google search for flags and link them. I am sure nobody will mind. |
