Hi there my husband and I are thinking of retiting to Cyprus early 2006 from the UK. We are 40 something pensioners in our hearts even tho we are 60 something pensioners on our paper work.
Can anyone give us tips etc for moving over there?
We are thinking maybe to rent for 12 months first and see how we get on.
At the moment we are looking to the pafos area.
look forward to hearing from anyone

What are your interests? If you wish a gregarious life with other expats, then the Paphos area may be OK, but be warned that it is the most expensive part of Cyprus and the one most exploited by the few unscrupulous "cowboys" looking for rich pickings from ex-pats who are viewed as infinitely rich.

I'm very happy that we chose a village, 20 km from the sea, with only a handful of Brits within a 10 km radius and we are definitely not in Paphos District.

Having fallen in love with Cyprus, I moved here just over 4 years ago and love the life. Paphos is expensive but there are many villages within 20 minutes drive of Paphos (Polemi, Stroumbi etc) which offer great value for money, fine views and a lovely Cypriot lifestyle.
