Agreed, but when pronounced does it sound like a 'G' or a 'Y'.
If it sount like a 'G' it sound more 'Italianate', like Giovanni. I know lately the Greeks have changed from 'Y' to the 'G' letters, oh what the heck, the wonders of a 'phonetic' language.
Whether its Yiannis or Nikolis, he will be a great Cypriot I am sure. |

ok you can pronounce it with light G or with a strong Y .
Not as strong as G Giovani for sure.
Whether Giannis or Miltiades he can be a great Cypriot the one who can solve the Cyprus problem maybe
Its the same with the Greek χ . There is no English equivalent and therefore I use "ch" to balance the accent. Μιχάλης = Michalis .

Since he will be wearing his grand daddys' 'Genes' , most likely
...but surely it wont take that long for a solution? |
