What on earth has a period of time such as Easter got to do with the suspension of the water cuts.
I would have thought if Cyprus was short of water it was short of water irrespective of whats being celebrated.
Sounds like mr president is trying to appease the masses without any thought for the waste of water.

Come on now Bill. We cannot let the biggest celebration in the Greek calendar go without water now can we?
For the record - I am still conserving mine! I know I am a saint to the cause!!

What have we come too, when the availability of water over Easter is a God send. No pun intended |

| I have just been for a stroll around the neighborhood. I noticed somebody taking good advantage of the last day's supply of water to hose down his drive! |

| What do people think of this: http://www.cyprus-mail.com/news/ Cyprus Bringing Water from Turkey. Whatever your opinion on the cyprus problem (i'm pro reunification myself) I can't see this being a good idea at all. There has been much ado about the cost of desalination plants, but surely some of the money coming in from the EU can offset that cost, and if not, well water is a requirement! Given the anecdotal evidence above and the face that I myself have seen many a hosepipe out, it would seem that the outtages are not going to do anything to conserve water... |

| The cost of desal plants is not the issue. The EU view heavy use of desal plants as a environmentaly unfriendly. |
