Accepting minority status and the nature of the settlement between the two communities etc, is a whole different issue from the settler issue. VP and others deliberately confuse the two and pretend that they do not see the connection between the settler question and the solution.
Colonising occupied land is a WAR CRIME under the UN charter. Turkey did not have to commit this crime inorder to safeguard the rights of TCs. Bringing settlers over was and still is part of a Turkish conquest policy which could not be guaranteed by using TCs alone.
But they did not count the "Cypriot" factor in this, they thought TCs are just like the mainland Turks and are going to take this sitting down. Well they are not. It took time but now the TCs are beginning to see through the Turkish ploy and are reacting. It is a process the GCs understand because they have been through it in the 60s and 70s.
I hope the TCs will find a way to remove the settlers peacefully. It will not be easy, but it can be done.

That is good news. Many of the UK Cypriots have become English , by right of birth in the UK.

I'm a GC born in the UK. I do not regard myself as English. I'm Cypriot nothing else. But I guess the theiving Turks want to be called TC's so they can steal our land.
We will never let that happen. One day Turkey will pay for her crimes. I just hope I'm around to see it.
