General enquiries

Postby kamaya » Mon Apr 25, 2005 4:20 pm

Hi,

Have just booked a late deal for 29th May & have few questions...

1. Has anyone had first hand experience of the Akti Tourist Beach Apartments? Bit concerned that they're a bit out of the way

2. What companies offer cheap & safe hire cars?

3. Where abouts is the Waterpark?

4. Heard mixed reviews on the Safari - anyone been on it? Is it a 'Must do' or a 'Must Avoid'?!

5. Is tipping expected? If so, what is the normal tipping %?

Any feedback or help will be greatly appreciated! :D

3. The Aphrodite Water Park is located near Paphos. Click http://www.aphroditewaterpark.com/images/busmapsmall.jpg for a map

4. I've done the safari excursions twice now, and they're a must! :) A great deal of fun, and the guides/drivers always know their island very well

5. I don't think tipping is "expected", but in restaurants I generally tip 50's and 1-pounds

For car hire, call in to a few places, there are plenty here........tell them what your best quote is so far and they will match it or maybe beat it.

As far as tipping goes, depends on the service received, and of course if they ripped you off or not! What I mean by this - the billboards outside the resturant advertise , for example "Full English" for £1.95

Sounds good, so you order breakfast and coffee, but of course they stuff you for the coffee, it's almost the same price as the breakfast! This happens a lot, not just breakfast time. Those places never got a tip from me.

There are also huge watersports in Ayia Napa (went there last week and it was fantastic) and 1 in Limassol. Actually there are 2 but the small one just off the highway isn't that good.
