Need to compare prices of Paris Hotels!!!!

Postby brovin » Fri May 23, 2008 5:25 am

Hi everyone, I am planning to go to Paris this season with my cousins. Since we are a group of teenagers we would like to make this trip an economical one and would like to know the staying costs that we are going to incur from the hotels there. We would be likely wanting the place to be in a centralized location so that it’s easy to travel in the city without much trouble.
Thanks in advance!!!

brovin, welcome to the forum and may I say that your request for information is likely to attract a variety of suggestions.

Mine would be that you should search the 'net, you will find numerous options available and depending on the 'Star ratings' the costs will reflect on your choice.

Central Paris has many 4 and 5 star hotels, these may not be suitable for your group if finances are limited (unless you can arrange a 'Group Deal') lesser rated establishments may not be as central as you would wish but the 'Metro' system is excellent and should be experienced in any case, (I assume you have not been to Paris before ?).

On a lighter note, I was quite amused when one of my short stays there found me accommodated in the 'KUNTZ Hotel' and I remember thinking that it might be a suitable venue for the likes of our politicians, it might be worth an enquiry and add a little levity to an after dinner conversation in later years.

Quite a comfortable place to stay, although I'm certain there are several cheaper with less endearing titles in or around that vicinity.

Good luck with your search and I do hope you have a most enjoyable stay in the beautiful city of Paris, back to my first suggestion, get on the 'net. :)

If you are young and carefree (as I was once ... ) get to Paris, walk the streets of central Paris (Montmartre etc) and you will spot many a seedy run-down joint (usually perilously tall) and you can negotiate your price .... you always end up with a "bidet" in your room for some reason ..... :?

Those Algerians may consider themselves as French ......

BTW ... what is the point of travelling if you are going to be "selective" about the type of people you come across ...

Really Gav keep your "racism" / xenophobia in check!

Zidane, probably the greatest player to play for France since Platini was born in Algeria

Hate Paris in spite of I was born there and spent childhood..... Always compel myself to go there...

But its lovely for tourists.
As for hotels: may recommend Concorde, Ibis, french Sofitel, sometimes Marriot but it depends of location. I know one near Tour Eiffel near Dupleix metro station. Its not far from centre. And also small private hotels.
Food is cheaper in chain retail supermarkets.
As for metro its better use pass.
