Recently irresponsible people have accused me of being a traitor to my country of birth , the island of Cyprus based on my refusal to accept that war is the only option left for a Cyprus solution and my refusal to put all blame on the T/Cs for our current predicament.
Since joining this forum , the first ever forum I have ever joined , I have strived to reach for the "other side " and in my humble opinion ( Sorry Eliko ) build little bridges of trust believing that this is the only way forward for a just and peaceful solution to our problems , taking always account of the future generation of Cypriots likely concerns , hence my opposition to the AP.
I give my word that if this poll attracts a majority of votes agreeing that I'm a traitor then I shall hang my head in shame and withdraw for ever not only from this forum but from all political debates.
In days gone by those accused by Kangaroo courts of being traitors were simply shot .

On the contrary, regarding Cyprus your posts are some of the most coherent & unbiased. But I do disagree with some of your posts regarding the US.

Given that I feel that all nationalisms and to a very large extent, all nation states are boxxxoacks, I think it's impossible to be a traitor to any crap state and that the worse crime is to be a traitor or a coward when it comes to one's own individual conscience, so although some may not agree with M's stance on the Turkish Problem, M. ( if I may say so ) does have the courage to publically state his convictions and long must he do so, as we all must.

First the definition:

Quote:
“Treason is defined as an act of disloyalty against a nation or national sovereign by a citizen of that nation.”

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-treason.htm

Quote:
“Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. “

http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/treason

Technically, the Republic of Cyprus is still at war and the demarcation line (green line) is in fact a ceasefire line. What constitutes “Treason” takes on an even more heightened meaning during wartime and particularly when the motherland has 37% of her territory under occupation!

Miltiades has made countless attempts to discourage the liberation of enemy-captured territory of Cyprus by constantly mocking the National Guard of Cyprus and appeasing the enemy in a public forum, and this in my honest opinion is an act of TREASON.

Regards, GR.

Nonsense as always. I have posted on numerous occasions that my son in law is a regular in the NGC and has been one for over ten years. I have met many of his colleagues at the usual social events , all know of my views and all respect me as a decent and a respectable Cypriot.
For you to say that I have mocked the CNG is another disgraceful distortion of the truth. I have mocked your position regarding the means that you believe are the only option left to liberate our occupied lands .
You are squirming to get out of this intact by stating that I HAVE MADE COUNTLESS ATTEMPTS TO DISCOURAGE THE LIBERATION OF ENEMY CAPTURED TERRITORY.!!!!!!
You are a bloody disgrace so this is my suggestion to you :
Plonker prove it or shut it , you have voted so piss off . Laughing

If war was the only option and you persisted in this manner ... then you would be a traitor! Evil or Very Mad

Well why are they all (mostly) residing with the Turks in the north ... where all traitors have absconded ... Shocked

Your little bridges of trust fall short of GC requirements ... it is not only the Turks you have to build bridges with ... there are 200,000 GCs who have lost their homes that you are duty bound to help ... and you do not IMHO.

Can't help but think that as many of the northern sympathisers have gone AWOL that some natural allies here are at eachother's throats. Sad.

The very fact that you are the only Greek Cypriot to have ever needed to conduct a public poll to determine your "loyalty" to your country says enough!
