I have just been watching the replay of the Wimbledon Girls Final and I am very happy that the British girl Laura Robson won Smile (last winner was Annabel Croft!)

She is only 14 but showed great nerve and maturity to win 2 sets to 1. In her post match interview she said that she was really nervous having so many people watch her. Bless.

Let's hope there is a great future in tennis for her.

Now if only the brits could learn how to play cricket, rugby union, rugby league, football, learn how to run, swim, even race horses, they may once again be taken seriously as a sporting nation Laughing

Of course we will never see an F1 driver from Cyprus - its imossible to drive, use the mobile, hang your arm out of the cockpit and smoke at the same time in an F1 car Very Happy

Actually if you wait around for a few more years, my nephew shoud be debuting in F1.

He's 11 now and has won the Italian Pan European karting race once and come 3rd a second time.

Has just moved up category from the mini's this year. Think over the last 4 years he's only lost 3-4 races in Cyprus.

Forgive me if I am mistaken but I believe you are in Switzerland, yes?

Walk down any street in Cyprus and you will see many locals wearing Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U - (most UK premiership teams actually) shirts and supporting and watching these teams every Saturday during the football season.

The local teams are also well supported obviously but I only ever see Greek/Cyprus shirts during the likes of the recent tournaments.

Are u drunk too my dear? I meant the English national team football shirt!!!!

Way too early - and hot - for alcohol though obviously not in Switzerland eh? Rolling Eyes

Yes, I understood your post; I was merely pointing out the shirts that the locals wear in Cyprus today.

How nice it was to have a football tournament without the 'best team in the world' England for a change. Maybe soon they'll realise they're not actually that good.

And any GC who wears an England shirt should be ashamed...may as well bend over too!

Ssh, you will hurt their feelings!

Think you will find that there are a few Cypriots who go around with England shirts on mate - their choice - and maybe part of their heritage too!

Yes please, send me a shirt so i can show my pride too!
