wish i still had the report from several days about EGYPT ... & the Goverment Family Planing ........ |
Well that would be interesting if you would source it again.
Islamic countries in particular have to address the problem of population growth and the need to have less (collectively) children .... |
For goodness sake . . . stick to the science, Oracle.
LESS and FEWER are BOTH collective nouns: but correctly used in the context I gave you.
I hope you have a better grasp of your scientific facts than you seem to have of 'collective nouns'.
And I DO know of which I speak. |

Perhaps you should speak to the ROC government O. They are offering 25,000 euros for the THIRD child, or is it the rest of the world that should "cut back" and ROC exempt? Oh my God!!! I have just had a horrible thought - is this your way of eventually taking over the world? |

The less if you care to read, referred to less children (collectively) on the planet as a whole.
Therefore I cannot count them ... so your suggestion of using "fewer" was unnecessary and erroneous .... and really not worth you losing your beauty sleep over (since you stated you were off to bed some time ago now) ...
Perdike, strange .... but you are definitely beginning to remind me of some other previous member, who persisted in trying to prove me wrong, in a similar mode, desperate for attention .... then left in disgrace, objective unfulfilled |

You seem to have difficulty with the concept: children can by nature be counted, they are entities, no one expects you to physically count each one. It is the fact that they CAN be individually numbered.
Therefore, fewer. Still, none so blind as those who do not wish to see.
Personally, I don't care that you, along with many others today, cannot speak correctly.
It's just that you are the first to ram other people's factual errors down their throats. But you can't cope when you have the same pointed out to you.
Bombast and ignorance are the tools of the weak. Whether you care to acknowledge it or not. |

Excellent article ..... thanks emassroua!
I think Mubarak is proving to be one of the World's better politicians ....
| Quote: |
| Mubarak has urged Egyptians to have smaller families since coming to power in 1981, when the country's population was slightly more than 40 million, about half of its estimated population of 81 million today. |
