| Actually Psycho ive been to the south several times but just recently heard many negative stories about the south. |
Well if you are a Brit then listen to your government who you pay to tell you not to buy in the north.
It's not rocket science. |

I find it absolutely amazing that anyone would ever vaguely consider buying in a place they've never even visited and which they know to be illegally occupied and that buying there is against the advice of their own government.
Obviously the sort of person who coined the phrase 'more money than sense' |

| Can anyone give me advice? Where is it better to live? North or South? Obviously i know of the divide. I have only ever been to the South but people tell me the people in the North are much friendlier, housing much cheaper obviously because they are not in the EU, houses built to a better standard and its mean't to be more beautiful. I have heard the GCs don't like the Brits now they have their money? |
Hello B 'n' S
Firstly a very warm welcome to the forum.
So many posts in such a short space of time ....well done.
Re your question
My personal preference is to live in the South (ROC)
This is mainly for the safety of your financial commitment as I'm sure you have read posts re the possibility of having to pay compensation if the rightful owner comes knocking at your door one day
Young GavCar will be able to help you more on this matter as he is somewhat an expert on advising ex pats buying in the North and it was he who drew the fact to myself that you probably would have to pay the aforementioned compensation eventually.
The TCs are fine people in general but are you sure you could live in an area where the indigenous populace are slowly being out numbered by Troops from mainland Turkey and settlers from Turkey also.
As I said this is merely my thoughts on the subject
BTW I noticed you were accused of being a Turk earlier on thread now I dont believe this for one moment
ps Nice Nick
Once again a belated welcome |

No problem.
Some of the 'newcomers' to the forum do seem to be getting a bit of a hard time recently but I'm sure you'll be able to hold your own.
Hope you have a long and enjoyable stay on forum |
