Thanks all much appreciated.

Oracle - thanks for that sweetie! Don't worry, I promise I won't turn up on your doorstep.

Something romantic, Limassol would be ok Miltiades but nice to get away from home a little and potential of kids turning up!

I've not thought of Nicosia RB, the hotel does look nice (on Trip Advisor anyway)! Thanks for that.

I could cope with Tom Jones being at the Anassa, at least him 20 years ago! 8)

It is very nice, lovely rooms but lacks any atmosphere. If you are looking for total privicy and high prices this maybe for you. Saying that I believe they are very quiet at the moment and they discounted rooms last week.

I was a guest of a British Businessman a few years back , the atmosphere was electrifying and the food out of this world. Tom Jones was not there , would have been very happy had he been there., neither was Rod Steward I may add.

So exactly how many other celebrities were not there also :?

Did their staying away have anything to do with your presence

Zoe Ball and Fat Boy Slim stayed there a few years back ... then they ate at my friend's restaurant in Polis and Zoe wrote a rave review about it .... 8)

I think you need people for atmosphere, if there are only ten people and twenty waiters it does not eletrify too much.
Saying that the barman was from Serbia, and he could twirl a bottle on one finger...
I don't like Rod Stewart either, by the way is his throat better now ?

Where is this restaurant Oracle? Maye I could descend on the friend for 1 night - as long as you don't tell him to poison the food! :?

A fascinatingly beautiful hotel is the Forest Park in Platres , panoramic views breathtaking indeed.
Some of the famous people that have stayed at the Forest Park , apart from yours truly !!, include the ex King of Greece Konstantinos , King Farouk of Egypt , the late Indian Prim Minister Indira Gandhi , Kojak himself , Telly Savalas , two of our ex Cypriot Presidents and last but not least Archbishop Makarios .
Worth a stay any time .

My friend's son has taken over since ... and it did used to be really special ... but have not checked it out since she handed it over to the son ...

It's called the Old Village Tavern .. (or something like that) ... it is exactly opposite the T-junction as you enter Polis from the Latchi (Prodhromi ) road ..

I'll get the further details and PM you tomorrow ...

It's really rustic, with a sort of hidden garden, but the food is nouvelle- Cypriot-Fusion ... something or other ... was great .... But best thing was my friend disappeared off with my son and entertained him, whilst hubby and I ate in peace ...

We are going to fall out here Milt. Yes fantastic setting, fantastic history, but has lost it's charm in the last five years. The older rooms are damp, the food is dreadful and the staff run off their feet.
Yes all and sundry have stayed there, the owner is a lovely man, and has a fantastic collection of old cars under the hotel. Afternoon tea on the terrace is nice, and a day by the pool is £5 pp.
By the way I was there last week.
Afternoon tea is still served with carnation tinned milk if you remember.
