I would like to see if we can accept each others suffering and pain and at the same time apologise to each other.

I as a tc would like to offer my most sincere apologies to the GC community for the past crimes commited upon them from my community and for their still on going suffering in not being able to return to their homes and there still waiting for closure on their missing.
This is from my heart and hope you will accept it as a sincere way for us to go forward and unite our island with FULL respect for human rights.

I am sure they are asking each other "What lies beneath?".

They do not believe in yours, you do not believe in theirs and so on.....they call this paranoia, it is time to shrug this off.

Join me and make your peace and lets see how many out there have matured like us and want the unity and peace and have grown enough to accept the truth with out the rubbish fed to us all in the name of nationalism or patriotism.

I'm sorry to say but for most GCs reunification and peace simply means return of all refugees, return of all turkish troops, return of all settlers and TCs living as a minority in a GC majority. Anything less that these are considered as against human rights and democracy and not acceptable. This is the general response I gathered from GC forum members who are (I believe) educated, open-minded people. I don't even want to think about what ordinary, no so educated and no so open-minded GC community thinks in general.

What i am trying to do here is not talk about what each side wants but to get as many people as possible to acknowledge the other sides pain and suffering and make peace with them with a heart felt apology, can you or will you do that.

OK, but this is either the wrong thread to post this in, or you are implying that, because GCs believe that the 'right' solution is one that you deem 'unacceptable', you, and TCs in general, should not apologise for whatever their faults were/are in this mess.
Unless you think they have no part of this 40-something year old charade...? Rolling Eyes

P.S.: the only reason I didn't speak of GCs doing the same, is because I'm speaking to you, a TC. Obviously, the same stuff applies to GCs, as well.

Yes, I do apologize for whatever pain and sufferring the TC side caused to the GC side (assuming that they'll do the same, of course).

No, what I meant was that I can apologize (and I did) but it's not going to matter much if we don't agree on a solution. We can keep apologizing for 100 years and nothing will be different if we don't agree on a solution. Am I wrong? Maybe.
