Let's not go overboard ... |
For once I agree with you Oracle. Let's face it, these guys may have been aquitted but in general soldiers don't do themselves any favours with the way some of them behave. It is clear this brawl did happen and someone was responsible though how much provokation was involved from locals is unclear.
Perhaps someone could enlighten me further here but I was under the impression that soldiers had been ordered not to go to Ayia Napa after previous examples of bad behaviour? I certainly know that 3 or 4 years ago, the Royal Air Force were not allowed to go there. |

Oracle do please act your age and respect your own intelligence .
1821 Greece and 21st century Cyprus , a fully fledged democracy , a member of the UN and most importantly a part of Europe , are as diverse as chalk and cheese. No comparison WHATSOEVER .
Today we have our own world recognised government .Greece did not in 1821.
Today we have our own armed forces . Greece did not . Today we have the backing of the UN and Europe but only as far as legitimate and peaceful means are concerned. Do you for a minute think that the EU and the UN will be likely to support a war against Turkey which in itself would be harakiri !!!
No Oracle , the only war we can win and will win will be the one that we are currently contacting , the political war , the ability to continue with the embargoes in place and the opposition to recognition of the occupied part of Cyprus.
Any other action will be catastrophic beyond imagination and will NEVER produce any solution other than the end of any further political negotiations as we have today. |
Miltiades you clearly know nothing about the historic events of 1821 in Cyprus ....
Kindly learn your Cypriot history if you want to avoid anorexia of the brain! |
The relevant post to which I replied was making a comparison of the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire with the current situation in Cyprus today. The circumstances are utterly different .
Thank you for your phlegmatic and ominous suggestion in order to avoid brain anorexia !! Have taken necessary measures and will commence at precisely 1.15 pm with a bottle of medicine so developed by man to sharpen the brain cells , restrain reproductive activities by virtue of total lameness and enhance knowledge on a huge variety of subjects , starting with Oracle's highly tuned and highly misplaced , if not atrophic , brain-ability . |
Your excuses show your ignorance further.
You have so shut your mind off to any Turkish atrocities, that there is no getting through to you with reason.
Once again: What did the Ottomans do to the priests (in Cyprus) in 1821 ? ... IN CYPRUS! |

Absolutely nothing. Someone is making another attempt at breaking the 'Get a thread Locked' record. What ever it touches eventually gets locked. Another game in which ADMIN participates too. They simply love it. |

Another one without historical perspective
If the Ottomans had not been so bloodthirstily capable at suppressing the Cypriots' rights to regain their Freedom, they would not have been passed over to the British.
If the British had not ruled us so "majestically" and wanted to hold onto a "little piece of England" as the SBAs .... then we would not have had blooming brawling British squaddies (whether found "innocent" or not) giving rise to threads like this ...
Understand? |

Thank you for enlightening us all in your usual Delphic fashion !!
Britain's' rule over Cyprus was not entirely a handicap since 300 thousand Cypriots , including you my dear , have turned this "encumbrance" of being under Britain to their advantage by gaining mostly free education , opportunities of greatly enchanting their life style and away from Greece's corrupt society .
We have a lot to thank Britain for not least the infrastructures they introduced and the foundations laid for our civil service. |

Why are you so interested in where I live halil?
You really are a sick depraved individual so kindly stop hounding me.
No one is living in TC homes, much less me, who would rather live in a tent or a cave then go anywhere near such a thing! |
