| I Am also not from Larnaca but it happened to visit the place few times. Yes Baileys is the name - maybe you are right It is not original Irish pub but it is located in a nice place opposite the beach that is what I like the most- , I will also try to visit the one you said above when I will be in larnaca. |

no, its not that bad! Most of them, especially on Dhekelia Road, I know from earlier times when I was working with tourists. You have to know the area to be a good guide, right?
Nowerdays when I'm on holidays there I have a few special places I regularly go to and the irish bar is one of them. This might be blamed to the fact that my BF happens to be an irish man.
Apart from that, I would be happy to meet you in person if we happen to be on the island at the same time... |

Good old Dhekelia Rd, with the likes of Kokomo and Cos' Bar (The Castle).
I personally prefer quieter places myself, so perhaps TAP Donohues's will be ideal. 10 mins drive and I'm there. May pop in there this weekend at some point for a bottle of lager. |

oh, yeah, Kokomo and Cozzie's.... And this huge Disco, how was it called? Mammouth? Where are they gone the good old times?
I also used to like La Tocade with the best choice of good whisk(e)ys and spirits. All original. Very nice place, quiet athmosphere, low greek music. Its even further down Dhekelia Road but I haven't been there for 2 or 3 years so I don't know if its still there and if its still the same.....
Hazza, please let us/me know how you liked the irish bar! |

I definitely will let you know how I liked it. I've been to other bars in Larnaca where when you walk in by yourself, you get strange looks which makes things a little uncomfortable. It'll be nice to find somewhere to go for a drink every now and again and not feel uncomfortable.
Last summer, I used to go to the Princess Hotel for a drink 2 or 3 times a week because I knew all the barstaff from my holidays there. It started getting embaressing towards the end when the staff wouldn't let me pay for my drinks, just felt a little uncomfortable about that so its very rare that I go back there. |

that sounds familiar to me!
And in my opinion its a good example that the people did not "forget" their good manners and hospitality as one could get the impression sometimes and as also has been stated here in the forum a few times.
I personally like Savinos a lot, but not on weekends when its full of kids.
(apologies to any teenage forum members, if there are any) |

Maybe - you pass from Bayleys and Meeting Pub and then there is a small way, not a road, in between two buildings. Leading to a little square where the Savinos, Stone Age and Hard Rock Cafe are....
The Reggae Club used to be in that small road as well. |
