You might consider watching WRC at some other location. This is something I want to do some time in the future. It is pretty easy to do too. Travelling to Europe, for example, for vacations can be time adjusted with one of the stages there.

You can find the WRC 2005 Rally Calendar here: http://www.cyprusrally.org/rally2005/wrccalendar.htm

Looking at it, you'll notice that:
Stages
Round 1 Rallye Monte Carlo 20.01.05 - 23.01.05
Round 2 Swedish Rally 10.02.05 - 13.02.05
Round 3 Rally Mexico 10.03.05 - 13.03.05
Round 4 Rally New Zealand 7.04.05 - 10.04.05
Round 5 Rally Italia Sardinia 28.04.05 - 1.05.05
Round 6 Cyprus Rally 12.05.05 - 15.05.05

Are over already.

Round 7 Rally of Turkey 2.06.05 - 5.06.05

Most people in Cyprus would consider it to be out of the question.

Round 8 Acropolis Rally Greece 23.06.05 - 26.06.05

This is a very good candidate. One can fly from Cyprus to Greece for about 60 CYP or even less.

Round 9 Rally Argentina 14.07.05 - 17.07.05
Round 13 Rally Japan 29.09.05 - 2.10.05
Round 16 Rally Australia 10.11.05 - 13.11.05

These are way too far, but if you want to visit a remote location, than you can also attend the rally event too.

Round 10 Rally Finland 4.08.05 - 7.08.05
Round 11 Rallye Deutschland 25.08.05 - 28.08.05
Round 12 Wales Rally Great Britain 15.09.05 - 18.09.05
Round 14 Rallye de France Corse 20.10.05 - 23.10.05
Round 15 Rally Catalunya Espana 27.10.05 - 30.10.05

Also good candidates.

In case you have some travelling planned, but which does not fall on the dates of WRC Rally, you can find some other rally event. Countries that held WRC Rallies usually have a good selection of these.

If you liked them so much, you might also enjoy the last year's pictures too. They are obviously not as good as this year's, but not that bad either. You can find them here:

I agree, it is a really nice site... I particularly love the expression you use "I also have a minor interest in driving"... nice way of putting it...
