We are hoping to move out to Cyprus in August of this year. Our house isn't ready until October but we are going to rent for a couple of months. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction on who to contact for short term rent? Looking probably for a furnished flat - for myself, husband and 16 year son. We are moving to Frenaros so anywhere around that area would be great.
Also, we are busy getting quotes for shipping our belongings over and are seriously thinking of taking our car out there as it is paid for. Its only a 1 litre corsa - 3 yrs old in July - would anyone know if we would have to pay taxes etc. We have tried ringing someone several times but can't seem to get any answer.
My son is looking forward to moving out although I just hope he settles okay. He finishes his GCSE's at the end of June and was going to try and start some sort of apprenticeship if we were staying in England - does anyone know of anything like this in Cyprus? I have looked at a few colleges and they all seem very good but quite expensive. One of our friends in Cyprus has mentioned Xenion in Paralimni which is a further education school (I think) - I am trying to find out information on that as someone kindly gave me their email address.
Any info would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Jo

Hi Branjo, a friend of mine is living in Frenaros. If you like I can ask her if she knows of any vacancies in the village. Usually the locals do have the best knowledge of things like that. Smile

In this case I would need some more info. Smile

What I get from your post is that you are a family of three and that you will need to rent from August till about November? Any pets? What about the size of the place, how many rooms? In Cyprus they usually count in bedrooms as you probably know, not in sqm. Any idea how much rent per month you could afford?

If you wish to send me PM, please do not hesitate.

cheers, city

Hi Branjo and welcome to Cyprus-Forum.

Regarding your car, do you have air-conditioning in it? It is something that you can't really do without over here. Its a must in my book.

As for shipping your belongings over, I recommend a company called Mondial which is based in Brimsdown, Enfield. That is the company I used and was very happy with the service.

Where is Frenaros? never heard of it myself (just trying to educate myself on areas)

Hello Hazza

Yes our car has air conditioning which is why we really want to take it.

Frenaros is just approx 15min drive from Pernera - not far from Paralimni.

Thanks

Jo

Hi Branjo, I just spoke to my friend and she said at the moment its a bit difficult in Frenaros, as everyone needs additional accomodation for the farm-workers they hire from abroad. So there's a huge demand at the moment. Might get a bit better later, but noone knows for sure.

Did you check BuySellcyprus.com? They have also property for rent. Maybe you find something in the area....

Sorry. Good luck anyway, cheers, city
