Working in Cyprus

Postby princess » Sat May 21, 2005 1:50 pm

When we move to Cyprus we will have enough money to buy a property but will still need to work.

Can anyone tell us the best way to go about finding work?

THANX !!!

It all depends on..........

a) will you be a permanent resident of Cyprus or just the holiday season?
b) What kind of work would interest you, are you skilled in any particular field?
c) Where in Cyprus will you be moving?
d) Age?
e) how many of you are coming over?

etc etc etc

Hi Princess

I assume you are not Cypriot? You will, therefore, to get Residency, have to demonstrate an income in excess of CY£12,000 pa. Unless you have been working for the previous 2 years in the UK (which will entitle you to free or subsidised medical care, otherwise you will be required to have medical insurtance.

Pay is poor here; foreigner worker slave in the midday sun on building site for £30 a day; my dentist does not have a assisant, I ma not sure if this is common practice here.

Accommodation in Nicosia is expensive compared to the rest of the islnd.

Sorry to sound negative but you should be aware.
