Various forumers have stated ignorance about the Cyprus Problem and the level of debate in Cyprob can be none too revealing for those wanting a basic nuts and bolts account.
This youtube gives a simple summary of the real reasons we still have a CyProb and why we GCs, get so worked up when we hear so much Turkish propaganda taking precedent over the simple facts ...

Oracle, thank you for making this article available to ALL on the forum, it will be interesting to observe if there are any that are prepared to contradict the principles so clearly defined in it.

When I first saw the heading I thought that this was a thread aimed at Floda & Get Real to try and educate them.
I thought to myself wow there's hope yet, wishful thing I suppose. |

What is "The CULT of TCs"?
They are a minority group, vastly diminished in number from the island since the Turkish Invasion (1974). Typically most CULTS end in mass suicide or inevitable extinction.
Like all CULTS the TCs see themselves as special and start to make demands beyond acceptable norms, fueling their own isolation from the rest of society.
There are some common psychological manifestations of this CULT phenomenon that we have reason to understand apply to the TC Cult enclaved in the occupied part of Cyprus (referred to as "TRNC" by the Cult and its leader).
Studies of the psychological aspects of Cults, focus on the coercive persuasion which suppresses the ability of people to reason, think critically, and make choices in their own best interests. Invariably, cult members look to a chosen leader (here, Turkey).
The key steps in the coercive persuasion a CULT leader such as Turkey would be using to control the TCs include:
1. Putting them in physically or emotionally distressing situations - (The unrecognised "TRNC" guarded by 40,000 Turkish troops).
2. Reducing their problems to one simple explanation, which is repeatedly emphasized - (Avoid Enosis with Greece).
3. Offered free accommodation, money, acceptance, a sense of belonging, "love" & attention from a "charismatic" leader - (Kemal Ataturk via Turkey).
4. Receive a new kin identity - ("TRNC" citizenship).
5. Subjected to entrapment (isolation from friends and the mainstream culture) and their access to information is severely controlled - (Turkey controls their movements, trade and periodically BANS Internet sites).

hmmmm. I wonder who is going to the first one to admit to being a "dummy" to believe the rubbish written in this thread.
We've heard a lot of rubbish coming out of the Greek side but this one really takes the biscuit.
I bet you had the GReek flag wrapped around your shoulders when you wrote your "master piece" oracle. |

My Greek flag is symbolically draped over my tattered, fading "Ottoman Pouffe"
I had a big idea it may resurrect it into a more glorious form .... |

So it takes an Ottoman pouffe to make your Greek flag look "glorious". |

You are right, the Ottoman can never be resurrected or made glorious again by any means .... So I'll stick with the glorious covering of the Greek flag and accept the Ottoman has seen better days .... |

Enosis allready happened
Osmosis is going on at the moment (TC's being outnumbered by the settlers)
Cyprus is from the Cypriots (Not the Greeks or the Turks)
You will always be a minority (you are one at the moment) |
