Where do we go from here?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby MicAtCyp » Mon May 24, 2004 6:36 pm

Peace,
One simple question to spin your brain a bit
What would happen in the 60s if your rights were 50-50%.
Clue:It starts from T it ends to m.
And another 2 questions:
Do the events of the 60s have ANY relation at all, with your rights?
Would they NOT occur if your rights were zero, or 20,or 30,or 40, or 70%? Or would they occur ANYWAY?

So please clear up in your mind the irrelevant issues, and stop chewing the gums that Politicians put into your mouth.Your rights in a new United cyprus have nothing to do with the events of the past. The guarantee of your rights is whatever we and you suffered from 1960 until today, plus the law and Order of todays mature state with mature and modern people inside the EU. We must both be stupid to repeat the mistakes of the past….

What will protect you is a stable state, based on mathematical exactness.Whatever rights you get the GCs will always be more than you, have more bussiness, more control on the flow of money, more control on everything.Supress the Political rights of the GC Capitalists to control what they should control, and they will act against you as a community. It is not a matter between the ordinary/average GC and TC persons. The capitalists control the Politicians and the Political life.Think as an ordinary/average person.Think of your own safety in a stable system, and think of the instability of a system that will deprive those who have the power their own rights. I am talking of the rights of the oligarchy in the GC and in the TC community… This is what the political rights are all about. I hope you understand.

Don't be carried away by myths of the politicians. They don't act for the interests of the average person. Ask whatever person GC or TC the following question. What do you want? He will tell you simply-All I want is just to work and live well, and be safe.

Of course yes ! This is a sentence of an ordinary people that walks in the street ! What we are talking about is how this will be!

This will be with a federal solution where TC's identity is protected by some extra rights !

I am sorry Mic, I cannot subscribe to that view. In a "mature" time, "mature" people have the right to enjoy their wealth - including ALL property - whether inherited or earned by virtue of merit and hard work. It is a very different matter, though, if you start talking about rights of the GC oligarchy to be forever rich and dominant over Cypriot (GC and TC) people. They should be careful not to be too greedy!

If the GC capitalists are more interested with - controlling the flow of money in Cyprus - than the interests of Cyprus and its people, then, as far as I'm concerned, they can go shove their money and control back up their FAT ASSES!!!

Regarding a settlement, the international community is really not much interested in the GC oligarchy. It is more concerned with, firstly, its own interests and, secondly, Cyprus and its people, in that order. I say to the oligarchs, participate constructively in a fair settlement and help make justice and history.... :)

I don't think you mean "takism".

Do you mean terrorism? That was already happening!

I'd like to think that Cypriots have moved on from that! :)

Yes, we moved on from Taksim idea ! But sometimes when some makes me angry about federal solution i'm saying "What about two seperate and soverign state ?"

Sometimes i feel we can't agree with some gcs here about federal solution! They think a different style federation and we want a federation where Turkish Cypriot identity will be protected from dominance of Greek Cypriots!

Annan Plan is a good example of federation that we accepted in ratio 65% !

Annan plan does not create a federation. It creates partition.

Papadopoulos, Cleredes and Vasiliou can say whatever they want. The decision belongs to us, and we will never accept anything like the Annan plan. I hope it is clear.

Bi-zonality is needed ! After all things happened we can't live under unitary goverment or a federation that does not protect our identity from Greek Cypriot dominance !

The decision belongs to us, and we will never accept anything like the Annan plan. I hope it is clear.

You are free to reject ! But we won't be guilty side and world will try another solution style one day and be sure this won't be against us!

Do you heard from Politis that Famagusta Seaport is opening?
Also charter flights from Ercan is possible!

After Annan will present its report we'll see what will happen !

Let's not have another debate about Annan Plan, but equally if you wish to think that what you have currently is worth keeping for the time being at least be clear that what remains is exactly what you say you are against (partition). I hope it is clear to everyone that Turksih Cypriots in Cyprus reject status quo yet politically the representatives of the south Cyprus govenrment jump up and down when they think the world is going to too far in ending the isolation we did not choose but which Greek Cypriot's put pressure on the world to impose. I remember Papadopoulos saying he had nothing against Turkish Cypriots when asking for a no vote yet there is no sign he wish to take responsibility as so called leader of Cyprus to offer some leadership to the people of Cyprus.

Mehmet, one thing is a partition that we will accept and sign and another the status quo partition.

the isolation we did not choose

The isolation is not for the Turkish Cypriots. The isolation is for the illegal "TRNC".
The isolation exists simply because we are the weak side and we are not able to claim what legally belongs to RC with a war. (the other side is Turkey and its local supporters, and not TC) Not that I would want war under any circumstances but still RC has the right to claim back its own territory. Such a right would be thrown in the trash if we sign a partition plan.
