Omonoia means unity indeed but this is not the reason most TC's support this club. Probably it has to do with the fact that the supporters of Omonoia were never involved in acts of brutality against TC's and generally they oftened came under attack by the GC right because they shout slogans of the type "the TC's are not our enemy, they are our brothers".

Much simpler than that and nothing to do with brutality.

Omonoia's organised fan base is EDON (Akel's youth) which heads most of the re-approachment events with the CTP youth. Omonoia's entire fan base is the most homogenised political fanbase in Cyprus. It is made up of 100% AKEL supporters (which is why you'll find omonoia supporters all over Cyprus not just nicosia.)

Shouting slogans such as the TC's are not our enemy did not bring them under attack from the GC right....Shouting slogans such as Gamame to Ethnos sas! (Which basically translates as screw Hellenism) and Istanbul since 1453...along with a few "trnc" flags will usually do the trick.

Supporting Trabzonspor against ApOEL and anorthosis is another thing and wearing scarfs that say TURKIYE on them at basketball matches is another.
