Computer advice needed

Postby mjd1947 » Sun Jun 05, 2005 5:05 pm

I will be flying to Cyprus this week to visit a friend and his partner, who have just moved out to Larnaca from England. They have asked me to help them to get a computer and get online during the course of my visit - they have little or no previous computer experience.
I am computer-literate, but have no knowledge of where to find a reliable computer supplier in the Larnaca area, or what dial-up service providers are available in Cyprus. Can anyone advise me?

In the Larnaca area, there is a shop called @plus which is run and owned by British born Cypriots. Some items such as motherboards and processors they don't keep in stock because technology moves so quickly, so they order as and when they are needed. If you order in the morning, you get by the afternoon.

As for internet, the best bet is to go to any CYTA shop and sign up there.

Depending on usage "pay-as-you-go" dial-up service may be of more interest :

PS. Get ready for a shock when you look into ADSL
