The only Greek invention in Cyprus that nobody can ever dispute, and the one with the most profound repercussions, is Greece's perfect groundwork for the Turkish invasion which led to all the subsequent torment that Cyprus has had to endure since 1974!

Anything else “Greek” just fades into obscurity…

Gorgeous Greeks? May be an adolescent thing, but the only one that springs to mind is the anti-junta Melina Mercouri, the only Greek I've come across with any pollocks (aside from our O of course).

Instead of talking nonsense why don't you make a thread about Britains War Crimes in Cyprus, after all it was them that brought the Turks back by increasing their numbers and helping to arm them. Maybe your too interested in the Arabs so you can get that Jewboy Freespirits attention?

Not many people know that that happened for real in 1571!

Way before Hitchcock used it for his films... 8)

On no Dear lady

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnasium_ ... _Greece%29

"The gymnasium in ancient Greece functioned as a training facility for competitors in public games. It was also a place for socializing and engaging in intellectual pursuits. The name comes from the Greek term gymnos meaning naked. Athletes competed in the nude, a practice said to encourage aesthetic appreciation of the male body and a tribute to the Gods"

and

"The gymnastae were also responsible for monitoring the constitution of the pupils and prescribing remedies for them if they became unwell. The aleiptae oiled and dusted the bodies of the youths, acted as surgeons, and administered any drugs prescribed"

OK Wiki is not the best source on controversial topics.
