I want your opinions about what Limassol/Cyprus needs.

If there was a bar/resto/cafe type place.. what type of food should it serve, what style, what amibience.. just general feedback please.

What do you think would go down well?

hm.....i can bring an example but most propably you will not know it. i was thinking something like tom george restaurant/bar/cafe in budapest. its a very trendy place, not very big, about 120 seats only. you can go there with nice casual clothes during the day,but you need better clothes for the night. it has a big variety of food(sushi, steaks, indian etc). there is a bar where you can sit for a drink .there is also a smaller are with sofas for a drink.....they have a uge variety of wines and cocktails.
the restaurant is divided mainly in two areas, the first one is decorated with colorfull carpets on the wall and the other with geometric designs on the walls. you can also find some small statues from ancient egypt(those cat stattues) with candles.....its really nice!its actually my favoritein budapest!the prices for cyprus standards are average(about 10 cyp with a drink for an average plate ,not the most expensive). business people have frequently lunches there and at night its business people with actors, models etc and foreign students studying in budapest!!!!(mostly greeks!)

now that i think of it again,a restaurant like that would be more suitable for nicosia as it a bigger city.for limassol i would go for something a bit more touristic and cheaper since the tourists in cyprus dont spend that much money ,and locals can also go to one of the good hotels for a nice bar/restaurant enviroment.

Since I m not from Limassol I do not know what the locals prefer ,but from my knowledge so far they have lots of American fast food restaurants and I think they also have chinese. If anyone from Limassol can confirm this. Since you are from spain a nice stylish spanish restaurant can be a good addition. My cousin lives in Spain and once she came to Cyprus she cooked Paelyia . It was very delicious.

Also a place where business people and workers can have their lunch and go back to work .There is lots of competition on this field so a good value for money spanish restaurant will be good but again it is not an easy field.

now that michalis mentioned it,about spanish cuisine, all the spanish restaurants in nicosia got really bad reviews ,at least from all my friends who were there....and according to them the decoration simply sucks.....
and wouldnt be a bad idea to have a nice modern spanish restaurant i the city center.....(not to mention that i love spanish food)!!!

Limassol sucks a big fat one!

No offence, but it's going to take more than a few new wanky cafe/bars to put that shithole on the map!

You did ask for my opinion, so there you have it :D :D :D
