garbitsch wrote:city, Berlin was wonderful. I have almost visited every where. But the Pergamos museum was closed, so I was so upset that I couldn't have the chance to see it.

There you have your reason to go again.
I also had a day trip to the Polish city of Stettin, and this city really sucks. How comes an EU state has a city like that.

Hm, been there ages ago, and can't remember that it was so bad. Remember it more as a place with old quarters and sort of a morbid charme. But things might have changed....

cannedmoose is spot on with his observation, of the 10 new entrants Cyprus & Malta enjoy full movement with many reciprocal agreements such as social security / walfare benefits and pension arrangements. The other A8 nations as they are known have membership but if I remember correctly without access to public funds. However to capitalise on the situation organisations are importing labour to the UK from the A8 countries with the promise of work which once undertaken permits. under present rules. the jobholder to apply for a national insurance number which in turn will permit access to public funds once two tax years of contributions have been satisfied. The stamping of passports of citizens of full member states however should not be necessary.
