The buffer zone guards know damn well that people spend cash on the other side, I think they're past caring to be honest...

We had arranged friends to pick us up but they are worried about crossing the border. Do they have any justification for their fears?
Or will I just be able to pick a taxi from the airport.

Mr rekojem

It is becoming quite the fashion to fly into Larnaca and then come to the North.

Several Tour Operators have arrangements to pick up their tourists from Larnaca airport and bring them to their holiday destinations in the North and take them back again for their homeward flight.

The cost is about £85 =£95 Sterling. ( For Larnaca-North and North-Larnaca)

I do not believe advertising is acceptable on this Forum and so if you feel interested in contacting me for further detail either PM me or e-mail me and I will put you in touch with a reputable operator in the North

Hi

I went in October 2005. Cost about £65 return taxi - no problems.

Except on the way back - the Customs stopped our taxi and made us unload all suitcases to search for goods bought in TRNC. I had a couple of cartons of ciggies which were then confiscated with a slap on the wrist. No hastle, just a telling off about importing ciggies.
