I live in pervolia and the road that leads from the vlliage to faros lghthouse is being used as a racetrack. Motor bikes doing weelies and cars racing each other at high speed.
The residents have petition the police, I have been to the symvoulio, who told me that before putting humps there must be traffic lghts. hahah that was 2 years ago. The noise is unbearable and the from houses that are for sale have not been sold. I wonder why.
Who else can we, as residents, go to to put a stop to this noise abuse. I am waiting for the screech of breaks until someone is hurt or killed. Surely there must be a solution.
Help going mad. |

Yep its still there.
But its got worse in the last 2 and bear in mind the area is a lot more built up now. Its very danger tryin to cross with kids when the bike just suddenly zooms down from faros |

This is a continual problem in vitually every village and still the police do nothing despite the recent deaths of teenagers.
I hope this newly appointed police chief gets off his arse and out of his office and actually gets to grips with this problem instead of leaving it to his officers who are too tired to get out of their cars.
Traffic law breaking now seems to be the number one sport in this Island by mindless, selfish and stupid morons who think they are clever. |

| Go there and take video evidence, then send a copy to the local munucipality, polive and Cyprus Weekly. Make sure the registration plates are captured. |

Hell no, I'm not doing the work that the police should be doing unless I'm premoted to above inspector level.
I very much doubt if video footage would be allowed in court by a member of the public anyway.
Look what happened when the police were filmed knocking 7 colours of sh1t out of someone recently. |

| Then throw a few nails in the street where there is a hotspot of these boy racers.....or buy a doll and leave it on the floor in the road where they race. Would scare the shit out of them, especially if they hit it and didn't stop... |

I stayed at a neighborhood once for a little while where about 20 juveniles rode up and down little run down bikes with no silencers and the noise was deafening!
By the 3rd day I thought enough is enough (zero tolerance! ) so I went down with a broom and swung at the next one that came racing down the road but he swerved and I missed, but on his way back I threw the broom at him like a javelin, hit him somewhere on the side and he fell off his bike! He got a few scratches, picked up his bike and fled.
I think the word got around very fast that a crazy man was throwing brooms at passing motorcyclists because they never came back again! |
