Ayia Napa or Pafos?

Postby gifty » Tue Jul 07, 2009 10:06 am

Can someone help me to decide wich area is better to visit in Cyprus in September - Ayia Napa(west) or Pafos (east)?
I have to choose one.
I am with my 2 boys (1 is teenager).
Thanks

You looking to goto either east Paphos or west Ayia Napa? Didn't know the places were that big to be broken down like that!

Sorry, i meant Paphos area of Ayia Napa.
Since I have only 4 days I have to choose one of the two regions.
Its my first time in Cyprus (and who knows last?!). So something that gives activities for the boys as well as some sightseeing opportunities!
So, if one had ONLY ONE CHANCE to go to Cyprus, which desintation should be chosen!
Thanks for your time.

Hei there.

If what you value is beaches with clear, light blue, calm waters and white/golden sand, then there is no comparison - the Ayia Napa - Protaras area is the aea to go - plus it has the small park of Cape Greko with nice coastal hikers and sea caves plus bustling Ayia Napa with its wild nightlife.

Now I would give Paphos significantly fewer marks than Ayia Napa with regards to its beaches. On the other hand Paphos has a Unesco World Heritage site - with its mosaics, interesting hikes, especially the west coast upto Agios Georgios port, it is close to Akamas penisula - a paradise for nature lovers, Troodos mountain range and the huge Paphos forest. Plus it is also a bustling town with nightlife.

So it depends on what you value most.

By the time you arrive here, I dont think there is any possibility of the flu issue being an issue of a single region in Cyprus, it will spread all over, well, all over the world of course.

Enjoy your holidays here.

Hi, Paphos area of Ayia Napa?

Ayia Napa and Paphos are two separate places. Ayia Napa is on east coast and Paphos on west coast. One to the other takes about 2 and half hours. There are plenty of things to do in both resorts and plenty of things to see.
