There is no problem in Limassol. There are some cases in Ayia Napa but nothing serious. All mild. Nothing worst than the UK, nobody died from it here.

At the moment it seems to have increased in virulence, in the UK ... three people of otherwise good health, have died from swine flu there.

Perhaps Cyprus should impose some quarantine on Brits coming from the UK ....

(BTW Mrs Aky ... I think the footballer did not contract it in Cyprus but was already infected from the UK and the symptoms, which take several days to appear, did not manifest until he was in Cyprus.)

Thanks very much for the info...

Oracle we are flying in from the UK and booked the holiday last Oct we are looking forward to it very much and to impose a quarantine is taking things a bit far...common sense would be put to use better. I am going to stock up on the hand gels they advise you to use and take tissues with us just in case.

That is a fair comment about the footballer. Which is such a shame as Cyprus is such a lovely country.

I don't think the virus would discriminate between footballers and normal people or lovely countries and not-so lovely countries ...

Anyway, relax and have a good time in Cyprus; and remember, that extra bit of sunshine will boost your immune system! :D
