This is what happens in most forums, its not just here.

Theoretically people can register so they can "watch" topics. Posting is optional.

I don't think the admin needs to do anything.

Yeah but if nobody paticipated equally there would be no forums, to communicate with people you have to write or talk, not watch! You are a member and you participate, but everybody has their own opinion on this and I respect that. But I wouldn't know that you thought as you said above if you just watched this topic and didn't write anything!

but if they did not do this we would have nothing to talk about.

or set up a minimum 5 post a month policy if you have under say 50 or 100 posts

By "watch" I mean the link you see at the bottom after the posts that says: Watch this topic for replies

You can do this only when you are registered.

Can't there be a watch this topic for replies when you don't register, can't the admin edit the forum??
