Brilliant apartments in protaras and lots of other questions

Postby linda » Tue Jun 28, 2005 4:22 pm

has anyone stayed at these apartments, if so, what are they like? Will a 15 and 17 year old enjoy a holiday in protaras? Do you think paphos is too far to attempt in a car for the day? Is limasol worth a visit too? Any ideas for places to visit in a car would be gratefully appreciated. thanks

I'm sure they're fine, but the name Brilliant Apartments tickles me... hope they live up to their tag...

15 and 17 year old will probably love it, lots of things to do in the Protoras/Agia Napa area - waterparks etc. Good beaches around there too.

From Protoras I would guess that you could drive to Paphos in about 2.5 hours, so if you don't mind 5 hours spent in the car it's within a day's reach. If you want to explore the Paphos area more, I'd probably find somewhere that you could stay overnight to get two days around there.

Wouldn't bother with Limassol, there isn't much there that you can't already get in Protoras/Agia Napa... really more of a commercial city than touristy per se.

The Brilliant Apartments have been there a long time but I do not know anyone who has stayed there. I agree with everything cannedmoose has said and will add that the Ayatollah and I guesstimate just on or just over 2 hours for Protaras to Paphos assuming you take the main highway and not the old B roads. A stress free 2 hours at that, nothing like the M25 on Friday evening. Whenever I am on the Island I do the Journey about twice a week on average. I stick to the speed limit of 100 klics per hour( ok I lie, when late for a meeting I have been known to do P for plenty & risk the fine, but only in the interest of keeping the wheels of commerce turning). If in the Paphos area see the sunset from the Polis to Pomos length of coastline - to die for.
Your 15 & 17 year olds will have more than enough to do in the Protaras area have no fear, it is geared for a lively holiday. Too much for an old un like me, I prefer my mountain retreat type of place but you will certainly enjoy it, just lay back catch a few rays sip a little iced drink and forget the world.
